Ansámbl Luython will finally perform the music composed by the person who was the inspiration of the creation of the group. This will include the USA debut of Luython's Missa Quoadlibetica Number 7. Other works composed by his colleagues in Prague will also be performed.

A Slovene Renaissance Easter

Ansámbl Luython, the United States' premier Musical Ensamble specializing in Eastern European Renaissance Music, will present a program of Slovene Music (A Slovene Renaissance Easter) on March 23rd 2013 5pm at Northbrae Community Church in Berkeley.

The program for this upcoming Lazarus Saturday will include Slovene folk songs sung accompanied by Renaissance hurdy-gurdy, keyboard pieces played on a Renaissance Regal Organ, motets by Georg Prenner, lute pieces by Giocomo Gorzanis, and Jacobus Handl-Gallus' double choir masterpiece, the Lamentation of Jeremiah, to be sung and accompanied by renaissance strings, wind, brass and keyboard instruments.

"A Slovene Renaissance Easter" program will also followed by serving of authentic Slovene Food.

Ansámbl Luython, the premier ensemble for preforming eastern European Renaissance and early baroque music, will present a Polish Renaissance Concert “Collegium Rorantistarum”. The first half of the show will include solo Regal and Lute pieces by Mikolaj z Krakowa and Jakub Polak, an Ensemble Canzona by Adam Jarzebski, Hymns by Diomedes Cato and Waclaw z Szamotul, all sung in Polish. For the second half of the program the group will perform Marcin Lwowczyk’s Missa Paschalis, one of the most important Sacred Choral compositions of the Polish Renaissance.
